Forbes Responsibility 2023 has unveiled its report, ranking the top 100 sustainable Italian companies recognized for their commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices.
Among the Sustainability Champions in the Energy category, Ludoil stands out as a virtuous example in promoting energy transition, as evidenced by substantial investments both realized and ongoing. The company focuses on the production of alternative energy carriers such as biomethane, hydrogen, and ammonia. The article highlights the Group's green investment strategy and delves into its responsible waste management, based on circular economy principles, aimed specifically at sustainable fuels production.
One of Ludoil's most ambitious initiatives mentioned by Forbes is the establishment of the "Luce Waste-to-Value Hub," a center dedicated to producing sustainable fuels from organic and inorganic materials using advanced treatment facilities, some of which are already operational. Through this project, Ludoil aims to generate over 56 million standard cubic meters of biomethane by 2027, equivalent to approximately 864,736 barrels of oil. This initiative is expected to significantly contribute to a reduction of over 34 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions in Italy.
