The maritime operational component of the military defense reaffirms its trust in Ludoil for bunkering activities in the port of Civitavecchia.
This time, Ludoil has carried out its first refueling for the Todaro S526 submarine, a vessel of the Submarine Unit of the Italian Navy, awarded by NATO for outstanding achievements in counterterrorism.
The choice of the «Terminale Bunker Sodeco» (near piers 22 and 23 in the Port of Civitavecchia) underscores the reliability of the refueling service and the high quality standards of bunker products, stored by Sodeco - a company of the Ludoil Group - and distributed by Ludoil.
To ensure the success of the operation, Yokohama ship fenders were employed to prevent excessive proximity of the refueling hose to the submarine, minimizing the risk of damage to the vessel.
In line with the requirements of the Italian Navy, Ludoil provides bunker products, including the Marine Gasoil used in this operation, subjected to rigorous analyses conducted in Sodeco's coastal depots before consumption. The supply chain integration allows for control of the entire process: from storage to distribution.
This is not the first time Ludoil has conducted refueling operations for units of European naval fleets. Among the most notable operations is the bunkering of the Amerigo Vespucci, the majestic sail training ship used for the training of naval officers.
