Torre Annunziata, 11th April 2023 - Ludoil Energy is delighted to announce the successful completion of the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Isecold S.p.A., a leading company in the primary energy logistics sector in central-southern Italy. The transaction was carried out by Ludoil Energia s.r.l., a subsidiary of Ludoil.
Isecold specializes in the storage and distribution of energy products through a port terminal located in Torre Annunziata, Naples. The company owns a logistics system of over 20,000 square meters, with two docking piers and several tanks for the storage of petroleum and biofuels, with a total storage capacity of over 13,000 cubic meters. This capacity adds to the existing logistics hubs of Ludoil located in other Italian locations such as Civitavecchia, Vibo Valentia, Trieste, Visco, and Nola, which collectively exceed 600,000 cubic meters. Ludoil's logistics systems are essential for ensuring a steady energy supply for the country and are a reference point in the national energy sector.
The acquisition is part of Ludoil's strategy to consolidate its value chain and strengthen its presence in central-southern Italy. Similar to other logistics facilities, expansion works are planned for Isecold's coastal depot to increase storage capacity, with a particular focus on sustainable fuels and operations geared towards a green perspective.
Ludoil is strongly committed to transitioning to renewable energy products in all its logistics hubs. The transition is taking place gradually to avoid disruptions in supply and ensure continuity in the country's energy provision. Additionally, the Group has initiated a project for biogas production through the transformation of municipal solid waste, known as ofmsw, into energy, demonstrating its commitment to promoting sustainable and zero-emission solutions.
With the acquisition of Isecold, the Group will further strengthen the reach of its assets, ensuring greater reliability in supplies, faster services, and increased synergy with port infrastructures, with a special focus on environmental safety in the entire area. Like in all the territories where it operates, Ludoil is committed to building strong and lasting relationships with local communities, contributing to the economic and social development of Torre Annunziata and central-southern Italy. The positive impact on communities is a crucial aspect for the Group, which seeks to generate long-term shared value for all parties involved.
The transaction was handled by Ludoil's in-house team led by Head of Legal Marco Russo Spena.
PwC Italia acted as the exclusive financial advisor to the sellers, with an M&A team coordinated by Partner Riccardo Maria Togni and composed of Massimo Pirozzi (Director), Andrea Guido Cristini (Manager), and Elisa Sioutis (Senior Associate).
